The Unfinished Portrait explores the life of Robert Wyndham Ketton-Cremer, the ‘Last Squire’ of Felbrigg Hall.
Narrated by Stephen Fry, the 7-minute film acknowledges Ketton-Cremer’s homosexuality in light of the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Sexual Offences Act, which partially decriminalised homosexual acts.
The honest, open and sensitive narrative brings new aspects of Ketton-Cremer’s life and work to light, mixing live action, documentary evidence and motion graphics.
The Unifinished Portrait formed part of Prejudice and Pride a year-long curatiorial programme that sought to research, celebrate and challenge representations of LGBTQ+ lives at National Trust properties in collaboration with the University of Leicester and Stonewall UK.
